Seasonal arrangement of paddy mandi -2009 at 2nd Grain Market, Sector-39, Chandigarh.

The following arrangements are being made by the Market Committee, Chandigarh at seasonal paddy mandi-2009 being held at 2nd Grain Market, Sector-39, Chandigarh.

1. Lighting/Tent Arrangement:-

Temporary lighting/tent arrangements are being made for the benefit of farmers/traders. 100 metal halide light fittings are being provided to illuminate the area during night hours. 4 tents and chairs have been arranged for providing shelter to the farmers/traders. Both these jobs have been entrusted to private contractors.

2. Drinking/Washing Water Arrangement:-

Two Water tankers are being arranged through a private contractor to provide clean drinking water facility at the paddy mandi. Four hand pumps are also being installed to meet with the bathing and washing requirement of the farmers/traders/palledars etc.

3. Removal of Paddy Waste:-

To overcome the problem of paddy waste the contract of removal of the paddy waste has been entrusted to private contractor, who will remove the paddy waste from the Mandi on day to day basis.

4. Police Arrangement:-

The U.T. Police is being requested to provide police arrangements during the paddy season for safety and to look after the law and order problem if any.

5. Leasing of Auction Platform: -

The auction platforms are being leased out to the Food Corporation of India for staking of paddy during the paddy season at the rates approved by the Government.
In addition to above sufficient staff of Market Committee like one Mandi Supervisor, one Auction Recorder, one Kanda Man, one Electrician, one Plumber and one Water Carrier are being deputed to look after the day to day affairs at the paddy mandi
